Top 5 Artistes That Exit Their Label After Feeling Irrelevant In The Music Scene (No. 3 Won’t Forgive His Boss)

Hello Guys!!

The music industry this year is full of drama but the good thing is, young talented artistes are now waking up from their slumber.

The rate at which young promising acts are pulling out of slavery record label deals is quite interesting. This year, the reality got done on everyone that the idea of an artiste signing another artiste is a scam in Nigeria’s music industry.

Meanwhile, the biggest fear of every musician is fear of loosing relevance, fear of getting blown and un-blow again. That’s why most blown act will always do everything to stay at the top, even if it is to kill the career of the young and promising ones.

They will disguise like your helper, fund few of your music projects, then make you loose few fanbase you have been able to build as an upcoming artiste.

Below are top 5 Nigerian artistes who pulled out of their record labels after feeling they are loosing relevance:-

1. Lyta

The new DMG Act left YBNL on not a very good note following an interview where he explained his unpleasant ordeal at YBNL under Olamide‘s leadership.

It all started when everyone found out that Olamide un-followed him on Instagram after-which he granted an exclusive interview with Naijaloaded where he explained what he has been enduring over the years at YBNL.

Lyta felt he has been losing relevancy due to his inability to drop songs for about six consecutive months, aside that he also talked about how he was cheated on financial level.

After exiting the Label, he was signed to DMG and released a hit song titled ‘Monalisa‘ which many top artistes embraced and showed him love, even Davido blow our mind by doing remix with him and paying for the remix video.

2. Picazo Rhap

Picazo was highly celebrated on Instagram after participating in Chinko Ekun‘s ‘Able God’ challenge.

The young talented act took the industry by storm, YBNL boss, Olamide took advantage of the heavy buzz around Picazo then by putting him on the YBNL mafia family.

However, the song “Marcaroni” featuring Olamide is the only music project by Picazo funded by Olamide during the artiste reign at YBNL.

He storm the industry with ‘Macaroni’ which was recorded before getting into the team, Olamide jump on it and they both dropped video.

No doubt, fans expected more from Picazo after the success of “Marcaroni” but nothing was heard from him until he totally lost the buzz he gathered before getting signed to YBNL.

Halleluyah!! Picazo was able to find his way out of YBNL to join Senior Boyz Records under which he released his new song “Pray For Me“.

3. Oladips

Oladipupo Adisa, popularly known as Oladips was signed to Reminisce‘s Record Label (LRR Records) at a point where he is already getting reasonable numbers in his fan base.

After some wasteful years with the Label, Oladips later shocked everyone with a viral video titled ‘Maybe‘ where he slammed Reminisce and regretted the day he signed that career-damaging deal.

With the energy he put in the video, it unarguably shows that he has been choked for long before terminating the deal associating him with LRR Records.

He had to delete all his posts on social media and start all over again.

Meanwhile, Oladips new song “Twenty Tiri k” is already getting mad acceptance from fans nationwide.

4. Davolee

Davolee a.k.a Ata Rodo also had issues with his former boss, Olamide which caused both of them to un-follow each other at some point.

Though, Davolee‘s departure of YBNL did not really generate any unpleasant media troubles but it is visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that all is not well between Olamide and Davolee.

From all indications Davolee forced himself out of YBNL because his music career future seemed not to be secured with the label that gave him the platform.

You all remember Davolee’s last line on “Festival Bar” Part 2?

“To all those supporting my music, Olorun a ta ri oloore bi ti yin si awon omo yin oo”

Meaning:- To all those supporting my music, God will send unto your children a kind of helper like you

What do you think he was referring to? Well, that’s a talk for another day.

5. Demmie Vee

When you pay a label boss the sum of 15million Naira to sign you and give you proper push but nothing tangible was done after few months, you will surely have problem with such label boss.

That was the case between Demmie Vee and Kizz Daniel. The Flyboy inc. boss was paid handsomely to push the “Surulere” crooner under the label but baba is too busy with his own brand to fulfill his part of the bargain.

Demmie Vee and his home record label, HND Records wasted no time in cancelling the deal and requested for a refund of their 15million naira.

The End!!

Bearing in mind their talents and the importance of their exit from their record labels, the question is 👇

Who Among These Artistes Do You Think Will Still be Relevant In The Next 3 Years?
